Advance Hunter Camp Minimize

US $1,860.00 Coed Camps over 1 Week (Sunday pm - Saturday am). The Advance Hunter Camps are for Teenager between 10* and 17 years of age WITH a HUNTER SAFETY CERTIFICATION. The 7 Day Camp focuses mostly on Hunting and Conservation and includes a Hunt for One Non-Trophy Exotic and ATV (4 wheeler ) Certification. This is a One Week Camp that can be combined with a one week Apprentice Camp if you wanted to stay over two weeks. (*) We are now accepting campers starting at 10 years of Age at Parents discretion, if You feel that your child is ready for an overnight camp and mature enough to safely and respectfully handle firearms and hunting.

Advance Camp Requirement: Each Camper must show proof of the completion of a Hunter Safety Certification Course in order to participate in the Advance Camp. If you obtain a Hunter Ceritification in your Home State, it is valid in the State of Texas so you can participate in the Advance Hunter Camp.

Please download the list of equipment advised to follow this week long camp. In this camp you are allowed to bring or ship your own hunting rifle if you wanted to practice with it during your week stay at Indianhead Ranch. If you do not want, or do not have a rifle, we will provide you with all the necessary hunting gear to participate in all the activities.

During this camp you will be harvesting one Non-Trophy Exotic.  This Non-Trophy can be upgraded to a Management or a Trophy Exotic by paying the price difference. When you upgrade your Non-Trophy Exotic, you will receive a $800 credit that will be applied towards the species of your choice, Management or Trophy Exotic. Please make arrangements with Indianhead Ranch before the Camp starts.

  • Laser Shot (laser hunting simulation)

  • Blood Trailing
  • Whitetail Evaluation
  • Trip to see Cave Paintings after a presentation from the Park Service
  • First Aid
  • Outdoor Survival Skills
  • Overnight Campout by Amistad Lake
  • Outdoor Cooking
  • Skeet Shooting
  • Gun Cleaning
  • Pistol Handling and live fire
  • Spot-Stalk Hunting Techniques
  • ATV Certification
  • Opportunity to Harvest One Non-Trophy Exotic.

Outline of the Advanced Camp Schedule: (All Activity order are subject to change)

Daily:

  • Breakfast 8:00 AM

  • Free Time (Usually during Hottest Part of the Day)

Day 1:  - Campers arrive, move into bungalows
Sunday  - Orientation to the Ranch and Dinner
Day 2: 7:00AM - Breakfast
 Monday - Range Shooting of Rifles
  - Review of gun safety and hunting ethics

  - Laser Shot
Day 3: 5:30AM - Hunting
 Tuesday - Breakfast
  - Tree stand safety
  - Intro to bow hunting safety
  - Game Wardens and Lunch
  - Primitive firearms (archery and muzzleloaders)
  - First Aid
  - Hunting
Day 4: 5:30AM - Hunting
 Wednesday - Breakfast
  - blood trailing and whitetail evaluation
  - Pistols
  - Hunting
Day 5: 5:30AM - Hunting
 Thursday - Breakfast
  - Park Service / Cave Paintings
  - GPS
  - Leave for campout / GPS / Outdoor Dinner
Day 6: 8:00AM - Breakfast
 Friday - ATV Certification
  - Bow hunting test
  - Skeet
  - Final gun cleaning
  - bungalow cleanup/ pack up
